Original merchandise from the “Pop Shop,” a store opened by Keith Haring in 1986 to sell goods he designed himself.

In 1986, in an effort to communicate with a broader audience through his work, Haring opened the “Pop Shop” in downtown New York to sell original goods based on his creations. Two years later, he launched “Pop Shop Tokyo.”

The original merchandise from the “Pop Shop” can be seen as an extension of his artwork, infused with Haring’s unique messages and concepts.

Rather than selling million-dollar works to a few collectors, Haring envisioned distributing one-dollar art to hundreds of millions of people.

Haring’s creations continue to inspire new collaborations around the world, keeping his communication alive to this day.
