About ACT UP
Formed in March 1987 by individuals with no leaders nor committee, ACT UP (AIDS Coalition toUnleash Power) protested against the Reagan administration's delayed response to the AIDS crisis.
In 1989, Keith Haring made a poster, Ignorance=Fear.Silence=Death, inspired by the concept of the three wise monkeys. Haring was also involved in the movement as a member.
ACT UP continues its fight to end the stigma, discrimination, and poverty surrounding HIV/AIDSinflicted institutionally on marginalized people.
