Arthur Russell - Picture of Bunny Rabbit - Limited Edition Cassette

A collection of previously unreleased recordings, recorded alongside the creation of the 1986 masterpiece World of Echo.

Featuring nine tracks selected from those sessions, this album presents a delicate and intimate world woven from Russell’s cello, voice, spatial acoustics, and fleeting melodies. While closely connected to World of Echo, it stands as an even more personal, fragile, and beautiful work.

Born in 1951 in Iowa, Arthur Russell was a cellist, composer, and producer.

Transcending genres such as minimal music, jazz, disco, ambient, folk, and dub, he was a singular presence in the underground music scene of 1980s New York.

Through collaborations with Walter Gibbons and Larry Levan, as well as co-founding Sleeping Bag Records, he helped bridge club culture and avant-garde music, pioneering new sonic landscapes.

Posthumously rediscovered, his influence continues to inspire many musicians today.
