An original T-shirt from the Nakamura Keith Haring Collection, featuring a small embroidered peace-sign motif in the colors of the Rainbow Flag.
Designed in 1978 by American artist and activist Gilbert Baker, the Rainbow Flag has become an internationally recognized symbol of LGBTQ+ pride, unity, diversity, and equality.
The original design featured eight colors, while the six-color version widely used today consists of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet.
These colors represent life, healing, sunlight, nature, serenity, and spirit.
The Rainbow Flag made its debut at San Francisco’s Gay Freedom Day celebration on June 25, 1978, and has since been embraced at Pride marches and events around the world.
It remains an enduring symbol of visibility, belonging, and the ongoing movement for LGBTQ+ equality.
