In 1986, Haring opened the “Pop Shop” in downtown New York to sell original merchandise he created, aiming to communicate with a broader audience through his work. Two years later, he opened “Pop Shop Tokyo.”

The original merchandise from the Pop Shop can be seen as an extension of Haring’s artwork—infused with his distinctive messages and concepts.

Rather than selling million-dollar art to a select few collectors, Haring envisioned distributing one-dollar art to hundreds of millions of people.

Haring’s work continues to inspire new collaborations around the world, keeping his communication alive through these creative endeavors.
